Dato’ Seri Talaat obtained Bachelor Of Social Sciences from University Of Science Malaysia and later Masters in Professional Studies from Cornell University, USA. He has also attended Senior Executive Program, London Business School And Advanced Management Program, Harvard Business School besides having attended several Senior Management Programs whilst in the government service.
He joined the administrative and diplomatic service in 1973 and served the government for 34 years in various capacities. He had served at state and federal levels, amongst others in the Prime Minister’s department, National Institute of Public Administration, Ministry of Education bef ore being appointed as Secretary-General Ministry of Youth and Sports and prior to retirement as Secretary-General Ministry Of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. During his service, he had also held the positions of Chief Administrator, National Palace and Mayor of Ipoh City.
He had also served as Chairman, Company Commission of Malaysia, Board Member of Malaysian Intellectual Property Corporation And Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
Presently, he sits on the boards of Shell Refining Company Berhad, Silverbird Group Berhad and Konsortium Logistik Berhad besides holding positions of Chairman on several private limited companies. He is also a board member of Outward Bound Trust of Malaysia. |
